Mary Logan

Mary Logan, age 85, a lifelong Battle Creek resident went to be with her Lord & Savior on Monday morning, July 13, 2020. She was born in Battle Creek on December 13, 1934 to Michael and Amelia Medich. She was a 1952 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and began working at Percy Jones General Hospital the day after graduation. Mary was employed by the Federal government at Percy Jones, for Civil Defense and D.L.S.C. and D.R.M.S. for 38 years, retiring as an executive assistant in 1988.

She was married to Clyde John Logan on January 31, 1959 at the Lakeview Baptist Church in Battle Creek. Surviving is John, her husband of 61 years; children, Sherri (Steve) Madill of Delton, John Logan of Battle Creek, Lauri (Bill) Field of Lafayette, IN; a daughter-in-law, Julie Logan; eight grandchildren; a sister, Amelia "Amy" (Paul) Williams of Naperville, IL; a sister-in-law, Mary Medich of Battle Creek; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by four sisters, Donna (Bill) Cowles, Helen (John) Martinovich, Sophie Medich and Jennie Medich; and by four brothers, Dan (Ann) Medich, George (Gemma) Medich, Joe Medich and Mike Medich.

Mary attended Battle Creek Friends Church and was formerly an active member of First United Methodist Church and its Martha Circle. She was also involved in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, A.A.R.P., Burnham Brook Center, the Institute for Learning in Retirement and the Senior Tour Club. She enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and bowling with several leagues in town, including Nottke's Women's Commercial Leagues. She was active with the Volunteer Bureau in the H.O.S.T. program. Mary especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events and activities.

Due to recent regulations (less than 40 people) a private memorial service for Mary will be held 12:00 noon, Monday, July 20th. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the First United Methodist Church or Battle Creek Friends Church.
