Michael Jeffery Mackinder

Michael Jeffery Mackinder, 59, of Battle Creek died at home and was pronounced by the Medical Examiner on Friday, November 9, 2018.

Mike was born January 5, 1959 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Richard Lee and Joyce Ann (Elsie) Mackinder. He grew up in Marshall and Schoolcraft, graduating from Schoolcraft High School. Mike served briefly in the U.S. Navy and was discharged for medical reasons.

Surviving are two brothers, Richard Lee (Laura) Mackinder, Jr. of Rosedale, VA, Robert Randall "Randy" (Holly) Mackinder of Portage, MI; his stepmother, Judy Mackinder of Battle Creek, who checked on Mike and looked out for him; a stepbrother, Paul (Jackie) Anderson of Battle Creek; an aunt, Martha of Seffner, FL; and nieces and nephews, including Harley Mackinder.

Mike was reclusive and liked his own space. He loved watching movies and his cats.

A graveside service will be held for Mike at Hicks West Pennfield Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 16, 2018.
