Michelle Lynn (Hite) Jones

Michelle Lynn (Hite) Jones, 52, of Galesburg, Michigan, died at home with her family at her side on Sunday, August 4, 2024.

Michelle was born July 14, 1972, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Vestle Ray and Patty Lois (Landers) Hite. She grew up in Galesburg and was a member of the Galesburg-Augusta Class of 1990. Michelle was last employed as Chief Financial Advisor at Citi Financial in Grand Rapids, Michigan, until health problems forced her to retire.

Michelle married Daniel Lee Jones, November 6, 2021. Surviving are her husband, Dan; son, Chase (Emma) Bruneel of Battle Creek; two bonus sons, Harley (Skyler Slack) Ring of Grand Rapids, Derek (Stevie Heighton) Haist of Richland; two stepchildren, Liam and Lillian Jones, her first grandchild due in September, Tallulah Lynn Bruneel; her bonus grandchildren, Myles and Zayn; two sisters, Marcy Merrick of Springfield, Lindsey (Jason) Blowers of Battle Creek; two brothers, Michael (Lori) Hite of Climax, Marvin (Sherri Kroll) Hite of Galesburg, a stepbrother Scott Garrett of Three Rivers; and numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families. Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Vestle Hite; her mother and stepfather, Patty and Doug Garrett, a sister, Melinda Straley, and a step brother Doug Garrett Jr.

Michelle enjoyed scrapbooking and writing poems. She loved summertime, the sunshine, the beach, and floating in her pool. She loved having her family around most of all. Her door was always open for family, friends, or anyone in need. She was always there for everyone! She would come to your aid, lend an ear, put food in your belly, offer love and compassion, and stand up for you no matter what. She was fierce AND kind and she loved everyone unconditionally. 

Michelle’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of the family and friends who have been at her side, cared for her and lifted her spirits. It means everything to them.

A gathering to celebrate Michelle’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Augusta VFW, 13549 W. M-96, Augusta, MI 49012
