Patricia A. "Pat" Shafer, 73 of Battle Creek, died Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Bronson Battle Creek.
She was born April 27, 1942 in Detroit, the daughter of Gerald A. and Margaret (Malvey) Bissonette. Pat was employed for 25 years as a dispatcher for AT&T (Michigan Bell) retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church, Telephone Pioneers, Red Hat Society, and loved playing dominoes with her friends. But what Pat loved best was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Pat is survived by her three daughters, Shawn R. Shafer of Wyoming, MI, Molli L. Howard, Amy L. (Matt) Haggie both of Battle Creek; son, Chad M. (Tiffany) Shafer of Ocoee FL; grandchildren, Amanda, David, Zackary, Jaymee , Megan , Corey, Kristina, Morgan, Zachary, Lauren, Luc; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; a sister, Sharon M. (Lawrence) Myers of Bellevue; a brother, Michael J. (Cella) Bissonette. Pat was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Chris M. Shafer and the love of her life, Marvin Dewey.
Friends were received at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday. A funeral Liturgy in memory of Pat will be held 3:00 p.m., Wednesday December 16, 2015 at the funeral home, 105 Capital Ave. N.E. with Fr. Simon Manjooran from St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.
