Pearl A. (Campbell) Gossett, 93, of Battle Creek died at Evergreen Senior Care & Rehab Center on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.

She was born in 1920 in Chattanooga, TN to Jessie A. and Nellie J. (Moles) Campbell. Pearl was raised in Battle Creek and was a 1938 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. She was employed as a supervisor at the former L.W. Robinson Department Store, as a secretary for the former Michigan National Bank for eight years until 1973; and worked nine years for Tera Travel in Meza, AZ, where she resided 16 years; before returning to Battle Creek in 1995.

Pearl was united in marriage to Thomas Gossett, Sr. on December 24, 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom in 1975, two brothers, Raymond and Richard Campbell; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Gossett; and a nephew, Larry Campbell. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon (Charles) Philp of Bellevue; her son, Dr. Thomas G. Gossett of Payson, AZ; five grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, nine great great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Eunice Campbell-Slavoff of Battle Creek and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pearl attended Andrus Church of God. She was a former pastor and founder of Kalamo Community Church; a former interim pastor of North Batavia Community Church and a former volunteer in the Leila Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop. She loved spending time with her family, traveling and exploring restaurants. You could find her watching the Home and Garden channel or a Christian Broadcasting program.

Friends will be received 6:00- 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Bellevue, MI.
