Randy K. Horwitz of Margate City, New Jersey & formerly of Battle Creek, MI

Randy, age 61, died Friday, April 21, 2017. He was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on June 24, 1955 to Larry and Marjorie (Star) Horwitz.

Randy graduated from Lakeview High School in 1973 and went on to earn his BS from Michigan State University. Upon graduation, he earned his MBA from Pepperdine and gained a Law degree from Kaplan University. He had recently retired after over 35 years of working in the food processing industry.

Randy was a loving father to his children, a compassionate brother, and a warm son to his family. Randy's children are: Captain Jeffrey Horwitz of the United States Marine Corps and wife Jenna who live in Maple Hill, North Carolina; Kimberly Horwitz, and Gabriel Pompa of Las Vegas, Nevada. Randy's sister Sherri, her husband Glen, and son Eric Ozawa of Chandler, Arizona. His sister, Vicki Horwitz and Mother, Marjorie Horwitz, remain in Battle Creek Michigan. Joanne Horwitz, who was married to Randy for sixteen years, lives with their son Jeffrey in North Carolina. Randy is preceded in death by his father A.L. "Larry" Horwitz in 1997, as well as his grandparents Lillian and Julius Star; Bessie and William Horwitz.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Randy's life will be held on Thursday, April 27th at 1:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek with Cantor Annie Rose of Temple Beth El of Battle Creek, officiating. Randy's family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Randy's honor may be directed to the Temple Beth El, Battle Creek MI, the Semper Fi Fund or the Children's Heart Foundation of Las Vegas, 3006 South Maryland Parkway, Suite #690, Las Vegas NV 89101, which are organizations his children are involved in.
