Robert S. Landers

Robert S. "Bob" Landers, 76, died Thursday, May 26, 2016. Bob was born January 22, 1940 in Twinton, TN to John and Eunice (Ramsey) Landers.

One of 10 children, he left school after the 8th grade to help support his family. In his teens he followed older family members to Michigan to find employment. After several moves between Michigan and Tennessee, he settled in Augusta where he met, and followed home one day, the love of his life, Judy Myers. After dating for about a year, they were married on May 30th, 1959. Together, they raised three children, Teresa, Brenda and Darrell.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Junior and Ray Landers, a sister, Juanita Garrett; his beloved wife of 45 years, Judy; and his granddaughter, Kelsey Clements.

Bob is survived by his children, Teresa (Chuck) Hickman, Brenda (Brad) Clements and Darrell (Christi) Landers; grandchildren, Rosie (Arnold), Taylor, Bailey, Emily, Danny, Bradley, Avery, Max, Lexi, Tanner and Tony; great-grandchildren, Zach and Collyn; brothers, Bud (Margaret) and Jay (Linda) Landers; sisters, Roberta (Bob) Harvey, Ida (Jack) Taylor, Patty Garrett and Jean Thompson; and more nieces, nephews and cousins than you can count.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31st, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home, Augusta Chapel, where funeral services to celebrate Bob's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1st. Interment will follow at Augusta Cemetery. Those wishing to make memorial donations are asked to consider the Augusta V.F.W. or the Hospice of S.W. Michigan.
