Ronald J. Hayden

October 7, 1947 — April 19, 2021

Ronald J. Hayden, 73, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in South Lyon, MI on April 19, 2021.

Ron was born in Battle Creek on October 7, 1947. He was the son of Franklin J. Hayden and Mildred M. Hayden who both preceded him in death. He attended school in the Hastings School System and graduated in 1965.

Ron was one of the most dedicated employees you would have ever met. His attention to detail and outstanding work ethic shined throughout his careers where he was always at least 15 minutes early. In his early years he worked at the Ashley Dairy, where he delivered milk. The customers on his route loved him and always left gifts. He eventually transitioned into a lifelong occupation as a Glazier for Battle Creek Glass. This career spanned 40 hardworking years where his work peers became family. He loved sports; his favorites included baseball, football and hockey. Ron also had a love for muscle cars in which he could tell you the year, make, and model and what was under each hood. His all-time favorite was a Red 1970 Chevelle.

Ron adored his children; Tim Hayden of South Lyon, MI and Karey Hayden Skoro of Phoenix, AZ. In his free time he loved hanging out with his family. Ron would do anything as long as he was with his kids. He was also the Best Girl Grandpa and was blessed with 3 beautiful granddaughters and a great-granddaughter who all absolutely adored him.

Ron is survived by his children, Tim (Jani Stiles) Hayden, Karey (Trevor) Skoro; Granddaughters, Carlye (Spencer) Mykala, Chloe Hayden and Mikayla Ford and Great-Granddaughter, Hayden Mykala. Ron is also survived by his sister, Janice Roschek and her children and grandchildren; Chris Roschek, Monica Roschek (Troy) Kelly and Andrea Roschek Wilcox; Nieces and Nephews, Luanu Roschek, Alana Wilcox, Luke Wilcox and Ella Wilcox.
