Ronald Dean Thomas, 73, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025 surrounded by family.

Ronald was born June 1, 1951, in Marshall to John and Carolyn (Dean) Thomas. He grew up in Marshall, graduating from Marshall High School, then served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time surrounded by nature. He worked for Tenneco where he retired after 29 years. Ron married Carol Adair (Davis) in 1973, and they had two sons, Greg and Jason. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1996. Ron was blessed to spend over 15 years with his wife, Mary, spending precious retirement years with her. They enjoyed time at Union Lake and spending time with family. Ron also enjoyed fishing trips to the Detroit River with his son, Greg and granddaughter, Claire.

Ronald is survived by his sons, Greg (Gwen) Thomas and Jason Thomas; grandchildren, Liz (Cody), Alle, Aislinn, Claire, Leah, Alyssa, Kayla, Ben, Emily (Brenden), Anahlea; great-grandchildren Hudson and Emersyn; siblings Gary (Ruthann) Thomas, Carol Thomas, and Janet Snyder; stepchildren, Sarah (Tom) Wood, Stacy (Johnny) Wood and Brian (Tiffany) McDonald, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents and sister, Nancy.

A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00pm at The Thomas Barn, 21875 D Drive South Marshall, MI 49068.
