Roseanne M (Sayre) Hagerty Heatherly, 91, of Kalamazoo and formerly of Battle Creek, Michigan and South Padre Island, Texas died peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.
She was born October 31, 1927 in Battle Creek the daughter of Oscar D. and Grace (Sevine) Sayre. Roseanne grew up in Battle Creek, was a 1945 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and graduated from Argubright Business College. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Daniel Jewelry, Pearlman's Jewel Box, and for 13 years with Federal Life & Casualty. Roseanne was also employed by Texas Industrial Machinery and was a real estate salesperson on South Padre Island, Texas.
Roseanne married Donald R. Hagerty February 8, 1947. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, 1984. Roseanne married Charles E. Heatherly May 6, 1967. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck in 1990. Surviving are four sons, David D. (Patricia) Hagerty of Hickory Corners, Michael J. (Ellen) Hagerty of Kalamazoo, Patrick W. Hagerty of Mattawan, Timothy A. Hagerty of Battle Creek; stepdaughter, Terri (Keith) Honeycutt French of Battle Creek; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Ferne Sayre of Irvine, CA.
In addition to her two husbands, Roseanne was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Oscar D. Sayre.
Roseanne was a member of St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Richland. She was a former member of Burnham Brook Community Center, now known as The Kool Family Community Center. She enjoyed reading, theatre and "gadding about". She especially enjoyed traveling to various parts of the USA and Mexico.
Per Roseanne's wishes, her remains wered donated to the Michigan State University Willed Body Program. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2019 at St. Timothy Episcopal Church in Richland.
