Sally Anne Atchley, 53, of Battle Creek died at the home of her sister after a long illness on Wednesday, December 26, 2012.
Sally was born in Battle Creek on December 4, 1959, to James R. and Virginia E. (Bates) Atchley. She attended St. Philip and Battle Creek Central High Schools. Sally was employed in production at American Fibrit.
Surviving are her children, James R. Atchley Edgell of Madison, WI and Fah'tia Atchley Edgell and Shayna Atchley Edgell both of Janesville, WI; two grandsons; her father James R. Atchley of Battle Creek and Tampa; two sisters, Mary M. Vasquez and Patricia "Tish" (Edward) Bell both of Battle Creek; a brother, Tom Atchley of Battle Creek; step-brothers and sisters, Judy (Joe) Markovich, Patti Hill, Jim Magers, Mary Lynne (Mike) Miles, Mike (Debbie) Magers, and John (Anne) Magers; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sally was known for her good sense of humor; everyone she met was her friend and welcomed to her home; and she was generous to a fault. She loved family gatherings and holiday dinners. Sally enjoyed playing Bingo and scratch-off lottery tickets.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013, by Rev. Fr. Francis Marotti at St. Philip Catholic Church, 92 Capital Avenue N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017. Graveside committal services were held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in December.
