Salome "Sally" Ann Eldridge, age 90, of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 22, 2023.
Sally was born in Coldwater, Michigan on October 7, 1933, the daughter of Leo and M. Eloise (Baxter) Goss. She was employed for more than 40 years as a respiratory therapist at the Battle Creek Sanitarium and Lakeview General Hospital.
Sally was a devoted member of the Urbandale Seventh-Day Adventist Church, where she enjoyed helping with all the church activities, for many decades. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting, camping, taking care of her home, and spending time with her family and friends.
Sally married James E. Eldridge in Battle Creek on June 6, 1971; he sadly preceded her in death on August 14, 2007. She is survived by her sons, Keith Aldrich of Kalamazoo and James C. (Kelly) Eldridge of Chattanooga, Tennessee; a daughter, Penny (Lonnie) Mixon of Lake Mary, Florida; grandsons, Joshua (Lilia) and Caleb (Leslie) Mixon of Florida and Connor Collins of Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Malina, Nicholas, Levi and Makiya Mixon; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Eldridge; nephews, Todd (Glory), Jonathan (Danielle), and Mark (Erin) Eldridge; and several-great nieces and nephews. Sally was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Maurice and Howard Goss; and a nephew, Rob Eldridge.
At Sally’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service to celebrate her life will be held in the Spring of 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Urbandale Seventh-Day Adventist Church and the Battle Creek Academy. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
