Sheila Rae (Pratt) Canatti of Battle Creek, MI

Sheila, age 74, died Friday morning, September 13, 2019 at the Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Sheila was born December 25, 1944 in Northwood, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Ray & Mary (Landman) Pratt. She was raised in Grand Forks ND where she graduated from St. James High School and attended the University of North Dakota, studying Russian and Political Science.

She married Wendell Berg in 1965 and they were blessed with a son, Todd Berg. In 1984, she married Dominic Cannatti and they continued living in Battle Creek for the duration of their lives.

Sheila was a person who believed "it was the right thing to do", while giving back to her community. Among those organizations that benefited from Sheila's service were the Minges Brook PTA, Junior League of Battle Creek, Art Center of Battle Creek, NonProfit Alliance, Battle Creek Community Foundation, Michigan Council of Humanities, Battle Creek Health System and the Michigan Dental Association (MDA). In 1999, Sheila was honored by Scene Magazine's Woman of the Year. Her talents were many as she also coordinated decorating for weddings, events at the Battle Creek Country Club and homes for various seasons. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf.

Sheila is survived by her son, Todd (Michele Forbes) Berg and grandsons Noah, Levi and Emmet of Ann Arbor, MI; her step-daughter Nancy (Chris) Bredeson, and grandson Nicholas of Bloomfield Hills, MI and her brother Bradley (Janice) Pratt of Mandan ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Dominic Cannatti; her parents, Ray and Mary Pratt, and a sister, Sharon Christensen.

A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, October 9th at the Battle Creek Country Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Memorials can be made in Sheila's honor to the Battle Creek Community Foundation, 32 West Michigan Ave. Suite #1, Battle Creek, Michigan 49017.

Sheila's final resting place will be with her parents at Calvary Cemetery, Grand Forks, North Dakota.

The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek is assisting Sheila's family.
