Sheila Kay Jones

Sheila Kay Jones, 62, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 under the kind and compassionate care of Bronson Battle Creek Hospital and in the company of her children. She was born in Niles, Michigan on March 30, 1962 to Otis and Martha Wakes. She was a fun-loving, generous, and kind soul. She graduated from Buchanan High School, where she was a track star. Sheila loved shopping and she was the glue that held her family together. Sheila never met a stranger, and her kids remember her fondly as fun- making any day a party. When they were young, they recall coming home to find their friends already there with mom. Sheila was deeply loved and left a loving impact on so many people. She will be dearly missed.

Sheila is survived by her mother; her children, Rikki Chantaya Wakes, Ahlia Wakes, Justin Gunn, and Darin Wakes; grandchildren whom she raised as her own; and numerous other beloved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father. 

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services scheduled at this time.
