Stacey Lyn Wheeler of Battle Creek, MI

Stacey, age 49, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, December 10, 2017 at her residence.

Stacey, the daughter of Lowell "Joe" (Cora Ann Wheeler) and Catherine "Cathy" (Smith) Wheeler, was born in Battle Creek on February 20, 1968 and was a lifetime resident. She was the Class President and the Valedictorian for the 1986 graduating class of Battle Creek Central High School. Stacey received an Associate Degree in Radiography and attended Michigan State University, where she received her Bachelor of Business Degree. She was currently employed at Post Foods of Battle Creek. Stacey loved the beach, especially at South Haven Beach. She also spent her time at an animal rescue farm volunteering.

Stacey is survived by her partner, Richard M. Bruinekool, with whom she resided; three sisters, Wendy Lee (Tom) Zalner, Kelly Jo Wheeler and Courtney Amanda Zalner, all of Battle Creek; two brothers, Joseph Andrew Wheeler and John Jason Wheeler, both of Battle Creek. Her step brothers and sister, David John Seybert, Steven Wayne Seybert, Chad Joseph Choi Wheeler, Michelle Ann Seybert, Danielle Ann Choi Wheeler, and her aunt Linda Ann (Allan) Schwab of Battle Creek; many nieces and nephews and her "Faithful Companion," Jet, the Dog (Australian Cattle Dog). Stacey was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and step brother, Jeffrey James Seybert and nephew, Keifer Caven Lee Trumbull.

A family and friends gathering to celebrate Stacey's life will be held at the Post Park off of E. Michigan Avenue (near Greble Street), on Friday, December 15th at 4 p.m. and from there, we will go to Pizza Sam's,1282 E. Columbia Avenue, another one of Stacey favorite places. Please join us to celebrate Stacey Wheeler her one of a kind, very special life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Stacey's honor may be directed to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek is assisting Stacey's family with her arrangements.
