Steven Wayne "Steve" Douglas, Jr. of Springfield, M

Steve, age 44, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, September 27, 2018 at his residence.

Steve, the son of Steven W. and Yvonne (Dean) Douglas, Sr., was born in Kalamazoo, MI on December 6, 1973; was a lifetime area resident and a 1992 graduate of Decatur (MI) High School. He was a Back-Dock Worker at Prairie Farms Dairy of Battle Creek. Steve was an avid fisherman, loved to cook, going camping and was a Master at video games.

Steve was united in marriage to Teresa A. Eubank at Milham Park in Kalamazoo, MI on August 13, 2016 and she survives. Also surviving are seven children, Zack Browning, Chloe Douglas and Steven W. "Buddy" Douglas, III, both of Bush, LA, Joah Liam Petersen of South Haven, MI, Geoffrey A.H. Eubank, Nathan Weathers and Sophia Rose Weathers, all of Springfield; his father and stepmother, Steven W. and Kathryn Douglas, Sr. of Bangor, MI, his maternal grandmother, Helen Dean of Portage, MI and his adopted brother and his wife, Brian and Jessica Empey of Battle Creek. Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Yvonne and his brother, Michael Douglas.

The Memorial Gathering to celebrate Steve's life will be held on Friday, October 5th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home and Cremation Care, Battle Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Steve's honor may be directed to the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital - Autism Assessment Center, c/o Kris Palosaari, 100 Michigan Street, N.E., Grand Rapids, MI 49053.
