Vanhazle "Pidge" Wolfersberger

Vanhazle “Pidge” Wolfersberger, 70, of Battle Creek, died December 11, 2023.  Pidge was born April 20, 1953 in Battle Creek to Van and Hazel (Klaus) Young.  She graduated high school and then married Russell Wolfersberger on September 11, 1971. 

Pidge enjoyed making cakes for graduations, weddings and other special occasions.  She loved bowling, gardening and working with her flowers, taking walks with Russ and most of all, spending time with her family. 

Pidge is survived by her loving husband Russ; their two daughters, Tonya (Toby) Black and Tammy Wolfersberger; grandchildren, Haley (Jeremiah) Swain, Hayden (Shereelyn) Black, Ashlynn, Teagan and Sydney (J.P.) Giannunzio; four great-grandchildren, two brothers, Ron (Sonya) Young, Dennis (Judy) Young and her precious dog, Maggie. 

Pidge was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Van (Al) Young, Mary Smith, Craig (Spike) Young, Tex Young, Gil Young and Cherle Lynn Young. 

Funeral services to celebrate Pidge’s life will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, officiated by Pastor Michael McGlynn.  Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Association or to Heartland Hospice.  Personal messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
