Virginia E. Dohm, 92, a lifelong Battle Creek resident died at Bronson Battle Creek on Monday, February 2, 2015.
Virginia was born January 8, 1923 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Clive Kenneth and Ruth Arnetta (Brown) Stanley. She was a 1940 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Virginia was employed at Clark Equipment Co. during WWII. She retired from the Battle Creek Public Schools, where she worked as a secretary for 20 years.
Virginia was formerly married to Donald Edward Harden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Dohm in 1976. Surviving are two sons, Norman (Roberta) Harden of Battle Creek, Brian (Leslie) Harden of Dowling; a daughter, Robin (Joe) McVeigh of Battle Creek; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Virginia was preceded in death by a son, Martin Harden on January 28, 2015; her parents and an infant sister.
Virginia was a member of Westlake Presbyterian Church, were she was active in numerous church activities. She enjoyed reading, old 1930's & 40's movies, traveling and camping. She loved spending time with all of her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Virginia will be remembered as a mother her children loved and respected, a grandmother that just loved, a favorite aunt of an extended family, and the great friend to so many that called her friend. She will be missed and, she will be remembered.
Friends will be received 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Monday at Westlake Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Kate Johnston at the church 11:30 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2015. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
