Walter Allan "Walt" Gregg, 79, of Hickory Corners, MI, passed away Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2013, at his home. Walt was born on July 17, 1933 in Chicago, IL. He remained in the Chicago area until he and his wife, Doris A. (Caday), of 28 years, retired to Michigan in 1998 on Little Long Lake. In addition to Doris, he is survived by his son, Boris C. and daughter in law, Kathy P. Gregg of Burtonsville, MD; his brother, Bruce and sister in law, Ruth Gregg of Chicago and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Mitchell and Judson Gregg.
Walt was a Product Design Engineer at the Skil-Bosch Corporation of Chicago. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Walt loved to fish, camp, boat, golf, bow hunt and bird watch. He was an avid sports fan always loyal to the Chicago teams: the Bears, Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks. Walt and his wife travelled to the Philippines on several occasions. They also enjoyed visiting their son and daughter in law in Maryland. But his favorite place to be was on the lake.
The Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Walt's life will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Avenue, Gull Lake (Augusta) with Father Christopher J.
