Wendell R. Zull, 89, of Bellevue, died February 25, 2025. Wendell was born July 17, 1935 in Battle Creek, MI to Ralph and Alice (Wood) Zull. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School, class of 1954 and worked 33 years at Ralston Purina, retiring in 1994.
On April 1, 1967 Wendell married the former Charlene Murphy, who survives. Wendell is also survived by his daughter, Sharon (Jon) Wixson; his son, Steve (Kelly) Zull; grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Iobe, Zackary Zull, Katelyn (Adam) Bell, Andrew Humphrey and Heather (Aaron) Mehl; great-grandchildren, Carson, Zoey, Richie, Aiden, Jordan, Reagan and Alex; a special brother-in-law, Doug (Margie) Murphy and a special nephew, Tom (Sheila) Dalton.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Zull; a brother, Keith Zull and two sisters, Beatrice (Charles) Dalton and Eunice West.
Wendell was known for his sense of humor. He loved his family, friends, hunting, fishing, gardening and attending his great-grandchildren’s sporting events. He enjoyed playing many different card games and was a pool shark in his younger days. Wendell and Charlene wintered in Lakeland, FL for 32 years. During his time in Lakeland he was on the committee for the Battle Creek Days. He enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada on different lakes.
A memorial service to celebrate Wendell’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Bellevue First Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
