William D. "Bill" Ackley

William D. "Bill" Ackley, 81, of Barryton, MI died May 29, 2018 at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Bill was born January 19, 1937 in Battle Creek, the son of Donald A. and Mabel E. (Shafer) Ackley. Bill received a degree in welding from Kellogg Community College and worked for over 10 years as a general labor for Rieth-Riley Construction.

Bill married his wife Bobbie J. Brown on May 26, 1973. He is survived his wife of 45 years, Bobbie; his children, Cynthia Frishkorn of San Diego, CA, Nathaniel Pierce of Battle Creek, Lynn Fisher of Gladwin, MI, Donald Beilman of Monroe, MI, Kurt Beilman of South Carolina, Chris Ivy and Amanda Ivy, both of Sears, MI and Kelley Harris of North Dakota; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a step-son, Curtis Ivy; his sisters, Helen Essex, Lillian Pierce, Phyllis Lake-Coger, Sandra Frazier; and a brother James Ackley.

Bill enjoyed hunting & fishing, and loved spending time with his family.

The family will greet friends on Friday, June 1st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Ave, Battle Creek, where a funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018 with Rev.
