William "Bill" Barroso

October 1, 1960 — January 23, 2017

Bill came into this world on October 1, 1960 to his loving parents William Barroso, Sr. (1936-1975) and Manuela Elizabeth (Sanchez) Barroso (1943-2015) at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan. Bill left us to be with our Lord on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Marshall, MI and attended Mar Lee Elementary School and then Marshall High School participating as a member of the graduating class of 1978. Bill then went on to join the military of that same year. His MO was in communications becoming a line/wire man in the United States Marine Corp. He was stationed on the west coast at Camp Pendelton Marine Corp Base in San Diego, California. He served four years in the Marines; three of those at Camp Pendelton and one in Okinawa Japan, which he said was always referred to as the "ROCK." He rose to the rank of Corp by the end of his service.

Bill returned to Michigan and worked several years in the manufacturing industry as a welder while raising a family which would include three sons, twins Salvador Barroso, Santiago Antonio (Cassandra) Barroso 31, Guillermo Manuel Barroso 25, whom all reside in Battle Creek, Michigan. One step son Rogelio Garza 25, and one daughter Isabel Manuela Barroso 20, both of Albion, Michigan. Two granddaughters Gabriella Maléah Barroso 6, Lyla Violet Barroso 5, and one grandson Ajax Manuel Endicott ,6 months.

Bill was an avid reader and particularly enjoyed reading about American and World History and like most of us he really looked forward to watching a good movie that caught his interest. His other passion was good music and he really enjoyed listening to his uncles and cousin's band play at any occasion. Bill believed in goodwill to others and was a man of integrity who valued his word. He was a humble, kind, honest man that will be remembered for his warm smile and honest hello. Evidence of his goodwill was exemplified in his voluntary time spent in the pantry/food bank at the Christ Apostolic Church in Albion, Mi. Of which he was a member.

He endured a disability that lead to his early retirement, but would allow him to be his beloved mothers care taker for as long as he was able to during her final years. Bill will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his children and grand Children, two brothers Ruben (Eva) Barroso Tulsa, Oklahoma and Philip Barroso Marshall, Michigan and other extended family.

Bill would be the first to say life can be cruel and no one is perfect. Which is why he never judged a soul. Now that he walks in paradise his life finally is.

His funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Fort Custer National Cemetery. A memorial service for friends and family will follow at Christ Apostolic Church, 503 N Superior St, Albion, MI 49224 at 2:00 p.m.

His family would like to say thank you to all his friends and loving family for the love and kindness that all of you have shown during this difficult time. Thank you.
